Experience the true social and competitive aspect of curling. Sign up for our 2010 Winter League kicking off February 12. Come as an individual or as a team, all skill levels welcome!
Our league runs every Friday evening from February 12 to April 9, 2010, with a two-week break for the U.S. Curling Nationals (for a total of eight matches plus a playoff week).
Teams will curl from 7-9 p.m. on some weeks and 9-11 p.m. on others. Please show up at least 15 minutes before your scheduled match.
We will play a round robin league over the first eight weeks. The following week will consist of a mini-tournament to determine the club champion for that league session.
We’ll be curling at the Cube, adjacent to Wings Stadium.
You can sign up as a single person, a full team of four, or anything in-between. We like to provide every team with at least one experienced curler, but that is completely up to you.
If you want to be placed with anyone in particular, let us know in the submission form, and we’ll do what we can to honor that request.
Club Members – $140 Non-Members – $200*
* You can become a Club Member for only $100 (it’s the smart way to go).
We request that you pay for the league by February 8. You can submit payment at any open ice event at Wings Stadium in the Annex, or you can send a check to:
Kalamazoo Curling Club
127 W. Kalamazoo Ave.
Kalamazoo, MI 49007
Please make checks out to Kalamazoo Curling Club.
I’m inexperienced, is that okay?
95% of us are beginners, you’ll be in good company. Learning is a large part of the league, and we’re all just here to have fun. If you have never played before, we suggest you attend one of our Learn to Curl sessions.
Can I just be a sub?
We will have a sub pool that you can sign up to be in. You will be charged a fee only when you play. The playing time will depend on demand. Per game fee: Free (Member), $20 (non-member).
What if I can’t make it, can I call a friend to sub for me?
Non-registered subs will not be allowed unless our sub pool is empty.
Why does it cost so much?
Ice time and rocks are expensive, and each game lasts for about two hours. Unfortunately, we have to pass that charge along. As we get rocks paid off, we might be able to lower the cost a bit.
